She will share her guidance and personal experience incorporating philanthropy as a part of her family identity as a woman philanthropist.
Maya has her own firm and has over 25 years experience in the arena of non-profit program development, healthy communities and philanthropy. Prior to forming the firm, Maya, as CEO/President, led the St. Joseph Health System Foundation to new programmatic success. In addition, she served as the VP of Community Outreach for the health system, including community health planning with 14 hospitals in California and Texas.
Maya served as the first Director of Planning and Policy at the City of Los Angeles Housing Dept., and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. She directed the Orange County Fair Housing Council, and strategically raised the organization out of debt.
She has co-founded several non-profits in the area of public policy, community development and legal support including the Orange County Public Law Center.
