Bracken’s kitchen (2017, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024)
Location: Orange County, CA
Bracken’s Kitchen mission is simple: through food rescue, culinary training and our community feeding program we are committed to rescuing, re-purposing and restoring both food and lives.
Grant Recipient in 2017 - $20,000
Impact Giving’s grant provided funds to purchase a second Food Truck to double meals per year from 40,000 to 80,000.
Grant Recipient in 2019 - $21,000
Impact Giving’s grant purchased a Cleveland Tilt Brazier with a 40-gallon capacity to create more stews and soups, a new hood and kitchen exhaust system build-out that facilitates cooking 90 chickens simultaneously (in an oven purchased with other funds) which allows them to meet 2019 goals to increase their food service program by 100%.
Grant Recipient in 2020 - $27,000
Impact Giving’s grant provided $15,000 to purchase a steamer, treatment and setup; and $12,000 for floor drain installation.
Grant Recipient in 2023 - $20,000
Bracken’s Kitchen will use their $20,000 Grant from Impact Giving to purchase a “semi-automated production line and tray sealing” piece of equipment. The assembly line process will make packaging easier for volunteers, reducing the time spent on each meal and increasing capacity to deliver more meals to the community.
Grant Recipient in 2024 - $40,000
Bracken’s Kitchen will use their $40,000 Grant from Impact Giving to finalize a purchase for a refrigerated truck to rescue food from partners that require refrigeration for their distribution.
