2024 Grant Recipient: Bracken’s Kitchen Hungry Games 7.0
Hungry Games 7.0 is back for yet another fantastic evening of food and fun for GOOD. Bracken’s Kitchen is thrilled to host our annual fundraiser, the Hungry Games 7.0, at their commercial kitchen in Garden Grove on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 with doors opening at 5:30 pm. Competing popular local chefs will vie for the title of “Hungry Games Champion” while 500 guests act as judges. It’s a casual and fun evening with amazing food and great music intended to help us fund our trio of services: community feeding, food rescue, and culinary training.

We're honored to host Concern America’s Field Program Director, Cat Quinn, alongside two esteemed members of their field team, Alicia Arnandis and Ilhui Mancilla, based in San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico. This bilingual presentation (Spanish/English) promises insightful updates on their impactful women’s health initiatives, generously supported by our Impact Giving grant.

Impact Giving Volunteer event with BRACKEN’S KITCHEN (2023 Grant Recipient)
Join us at Bracken’s Kitchen to distribute holiday meals and support two Family Resource Centers in Orange County! The main goal is to distribute family holiday meal boxes, complete with roasted turkey, gravy, roasted potatoes, stuffing, veg and dessert. We will also distribute dry shelf stable item in another box. Toys and book donations are requested to add more holiday vibe and blessings to the families.
Our organization’s goal is to donate 400 toys or books. A central location to drop off donation will be announced soon. Or feel free to bring them to any Impact Giving event leading up to December 9th and give them to a board chair.
Volunteers will be placed at stations: toy & books, holiday meal box, dry food box, some kind of snack offering from BK, senior meal. We also need a couple volunteers to take the items to the vehicle, and a couple volunteers to arrange and restock the staging tables.
We look forward to volunteering with you!

We’ll be going rock climbing at Movement Gym in Fountain Valley and then heading around the corner to a Greenleaf for food and drinks after!

Concern america - grow a Global Heart Auction
Join Concern America’s 16th Annual Grow a Global Heart Auction for the chance to bid on over 85 silent and live auction items, including local and global experiences, unique and hand-made items from around the world, and so much more. The evening will also include an engaging program and “global hearty” appetizers and drinks! This year the event is in-person only; hope to see you there!

Hope Builders' Annual Fall Fundraiser, 10 Days for Launching Careers will run from August 26th to September 4th highlighting stories that celebrate, educate and inspire students, mentors, employers and donors.
The Campaign Premiere for "Turning Roadblocks into Pathways" kicks off on Thursday, August 24th at the Port Theater in Corona Del Mar featuring stories of perseverance, triumph and transformation from Hope Builders' alumni and employers.
