Debbie is currently retired. Originally from South Africa, she has lived in Hong Kong, Japan and Australia, before moving to California in 2001. Her non-profit work started in Hong Kong where she spent 2 years working for 2 different organizations that work with children in the underprivileged and hospital communities, to promote social inclusion through play.

In 2010, Debbie joined CASA of Orange County as a volunteer and worked for them until April 2023 as their Financial Controller. She has been a board member of The Arthritis National Research Foundation serving as the Board Chair 2018 to 2020. She also served as Treasurer of her HOA until August 2023. In her spare time, she loves to play bridge, tennis and pickleball.
